Invalid IMEI in Nokia Samsung and Chinese Mobile Phones
Its no NEWS that chinese mobiles have no IMEI and hence their owners knew already that one day they will be banned and not useable in India. However with recent notification from Department of Telecom (DOT) the telecom operators have started informing their subscribers using mobile phones with invalid or bad or duplicate IMEI numbers.
The surprising fact is that not only the owners of chinese mobiles but owners of genuine mobile sets are affected. My wife has genuine Nokia 2310 with bill (Invoice ) and she still is atill getting the message that the handset does not have a valid IMEI.
I looked into internet and found that I am not alone there are many similar cases. This is really bad and genuine handset owners are also suffereing because someone has cloned their IMEI numbers.. I wonder what Nokia has to say about it?
In the mean time the solution to the problem is ( applies to chinese mobiles as well) to go to any Genuine IMEI Implant outlet in your city and get a new IMEI at 199rs. as soon as possible. Alternatively buy a new cellphone.
