Latest and Best 3G Mobiles in India
The Third generation (3G) Mobiles launched in the India by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar are quite expensive.
In the Indian market there are only two models for people to grab::One with 8GB memory (in black colour)for Rs 31,000 and another 16 GB (white and black) for Rs 36,100 respectively.
Vodafone has also announced the same official pricing for the iPhone 3G as Airtel. The cost for the same 3G iPhone in US is $199 (around Rs 8600) but in India these will be priced .. at rate Rs. 31000 to Rs. 36000. It is literally a shocking news for the people who have been waiting for the technology to come in India.
Basically, these companies want to cater to high end markets first. Hence only rich people will only be able to afford the mobile and services in the beginning. I am sure that these companies will cut on the price of these hand sets within six months to one year. This is what happened with GSM mobile sets when they were launched in 90s.
Also, the price difference of these mobile sets in Indian and Foreign markets will only help smugglers and attract middle class towards buying these sets from Grey Markets where they may get these at Rs. 10,000 or so.
All those people who do not want to buy from grey markets and also can’t afford Rs. 30,000 will have to wait just for 6 -9 months and they will get the same set for Rs 8000 – Rs. 10,000.
